**Signature invite:** A single document or group of documents with or without fillable fields sent for signature to one or multiple recipients.

**Fillable fields**: Editable boxes in the document where recipients can add signatures and data.

**Recipient**: A user who receives the document to fill out, view, or approve.

**Sender**: A user who prepares and sends the document for signature.

**Role**: An action assigned to the recipient by the sender. Available roles include signer, viewer, and approver.

- Signer – fills out and signs the document.
- Viewer – can only view the document.
- Approver - reviews and approves the document to be sent to the next recipients.

**Document group template** (also called templates in this guide): A group of documents you configure once and reuse with the same settings as often as needed. Each time you send a document group template for signature, a new document group template copy is created.

**Template:** A document with or without fillable fields you can send for signature multiple times. Each time you send a template for signature, a new document copy is created.

**Document flow:** A preconfigured process for sending documents for signature. Setting up a document flow includes defining the sender’s experience, customizing the email subject and body, and managing recipients. When a document flow is added to a custom action, NetSuite users can send documents from the selected record with a single click.

**Custom button**. A button added to a NetSuite record that executes a specific JavaScript function predefined by the admin. Custom buttons allow users to send document group templates for signature, select and send attachments for signature, or generate a PDF from the record and send it for signature.
