# SignNow MCP Server Security

Security is a core principle of the SignNow MCP server.

**Your data is never used for AI training.** SignNow does not use any data transmitted through the MCP server (including your documents, templates, and account information) to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI models. Your data remains yours.

The SignNow MCP server is designed with the following security principles:

- **Scoped access:** When you connect your SignNow account, you grant access to documents and templates only. The MCP server does not request access to other account data beyond what is required to perform the actions you initiate.
- **User-initiated actions:** The MCP server only performs actions that you explicitly request. No background processing or autonomous access to your account takes place.
- **Credential isolation:** Your SignNow credentials are never exposed to the AI client or stored by the MCP server.
- **Encrypted transport:** All communication between the MCP server and SignNow APIs is conducted over HTTPS.
- **No data retention:** The MCP server does not store your data server-side. Document and template data is processed in runtime memory only and remains on your client.
- **Access revocation:** You can disconnect the SignNow MCP server at any time directly from your AI agent.
- **Compliance:** SignNow meets industry-leading security and regulatory standards, including GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2 Type II, PCI DSS, 21 CFR Part 11, CCPA, ESIGN, and UETA. For full details, see [SignNow Security and Compliance](https://www.signnow.com/security).
